Gulf Harbors

Gulf Harbors is a waterfront community in New Port Richey on Florida's sunny gulf coast.

There is approximately 1800 homes in the original Gulf Harbors community where construction began in the early 1960's.  Later neighboring communities started to pop-up around the Gulf Harbors area.  These later communities include Gulf Harbors Woodlands and Gulf Harbors Sea Forest, both of which lay on the north side of Gulf Harbors main North Channel. The construction of new and large homes in Gulf Harbors has exploded over the past 6 years as homebuyers discover this secret paradise on the gulf.  Home prices in this community are usually less than half of what one might expect to pay for comparable homes in the waterfront communities of Pinellas County (Clearwater, St. Petersburg, Tarpon Springs, and other towns) just a couple of miles south.

Gulf Harbors has deep channels or canals which have direct gulf access.  Access to the gulf by boat is takes only a few minutes at idle speed from just about any home within the community.  A small portion of the homes have access to the gulf which required passing under a fixed-bridge.  This bridge has an average clearance of over 8 feet.  Boats up to 24 feet in length should have no issue passing under this bridge unless the boat has a tall fixed flybridge or tower.  Sailboats are excluded from passage unless they have a collapsible mast.

Gulf Harbors is a deed restricted community with a voluntary homeowners association. The community has a large clubhouse which houses several weekly events and is available for rentals.  Association members receive discounts on clubhouse rentals as well as discounts from several local merchants.

Located within the Gulf Harbors community is the 18 hole Gulf Harbors Golf Course.  This course is open to the public and has a 19th hole lounge and clubhouse.  Gulf Harbors residents have the option of joining the Gulf Harbors Private beach Club.  This beach has white sand that is combed regularly and overlooks the beautiful gulf and Anclote Key State park.  There are also several covered pavilions with grills and tables.  The beach also has bathrooms, showers, and changing rooms.

Gulf Harbors and Gulf Harbors Woodlands official website is www.GulfHarborsLife.com on which community news, events, and many informative videos can be located.  There is also several specialized forums where visitors can ask questions or check the community classified ads. There is a webcam streaming live video from the North Channel where you can often watch a beautiful sunset!
